Different Sizes: The tutorial is written to use 4" x 16" rectangles which makes a nice size star. You can vary the finished star size by using narrower rectangles. Try 3 1/2" x 14", 3" x 12", or even 2 1/2" x 10" for cute little stars. Starch Generously: Use your favorite starch or starch alternative generously when pressing the rectangles.

Gather all the stitched end tails together in your hand and tie in a knot, bringing the corners together securely. Then cut any access thread off. To attach the binding, start by folding it in half and press. Then open it back up and line up the raw edges with the raw edge of your potholder. Clip or pin the binding to each of the potholders. Sew the binding to the potholder using a quarter-inch seam allowance. Fold the binding over to the backside and press.
