There are one or two daily Glacier Expresses in each direction in winter, more in summer. Glacier Express timetable Summer = 4 May to 12 October 2024. Winter = 10 December 2023 to 3 May 2024. There is no Glacier Express service at all from 16 October to 9 December 2023 or from 13 October to 6 December 2024.

To ride on the Glacier Express you need 2 things, a seat reservation and a ticket. You can buy them together at the same time or separately. If you are planning on buying the Swiss rail pass, you only need the seat reservation, as the rail pass counts as your ticket. This is our recommended way to do it.
