Het jaarlijkse Dickens Festijn in de binnenstad van Deventer kon in 2021 helaas niet doorgaan vanwege de corona-pandemie. Maar er is dat jaar wel een Dickens audio-wandeling door het Bergkwartier ontwikkeld: Dickens Walk. Na een succesvol eerste jaar in 2022 van de 'walk' is de deze wandeling met audiotour ook dit jaar weer te lopen.

14 & 15 december 2024 Op zaterdag 14 en zondag 15 december 2024 vindt het iconische Dickens Festijn in Deventer weer plaats! De 19e eeuwse Engelse stad herleeft dan in volle glorie: in het Bergkwartier komen ruim 950 personages uit de boeken van Charles Dickens tot leven. Het festijn trekt vele duizenden bezoekers uit binnen- en buitenland.

Since 1991, every year, just before Christmas, the medieval Bergkwartier of Deventer transforms into a vibrant tableau of the 19th century, complete with Christmas Carol singers, weepy orphans, and even the occasional cheerful drunkard. It's like a time machine, but with more festive hats!
