The Mercedes-Benz W208 coupes (C208) and convertibles (A208) were produced from 1997 to 2002. They were sold under the CLK-Class model names. The W208 models were the CLK 200 4-cylinder (from MY2000 also with Kompressor), CLK230 Kompressor 4-cylinder, CLK 320 V6, CLK 430 V8 and CLK 55 AMG. All models were available in both coupe and cabriolet form.

The CLK55 AMG was a high performance variant of the Second Generation W209 Mercedes-Benz CLK that was introduced for the 2003 model year. Previously, the model series had appeared as the W208 CLK 55 AMG, and like its predecessor, this updated version was offered as a Coupe or Convertible.

The CLK 55 AMG Cabriolet (208) is a rare car over here as there were only a few hundred built worldwide with most going to the USA. The rest remained in mainland Europe with only a handful ending up on our shores. It cost a staggering £70,000 in 2002 which helped to keep it exclusive to this day.
