Hello my Friends, welcome to my Southern Kitchen! Today's recipe I am making another Back To School treat and one of my favorites in the School Cafeteria fro.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease the inside of a 9-inch x-13inch baking dish and set aside. Melt chocolate & butter together in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each heating. (Or you can use a double boiler on the stovetop.) Transfer chocolate mixture to a large mixing bowl.

Spray the foil with cooking spray. Melt two sticks of butter, and mix with cocoa powder with electric mixer until smooth. Add the sugar and flour and mix. Add eggs and vanilla and mix again. Pour the batter into the baking dish and bake for 25 minutes. While the brownies cool, make the frosting.

Honestly, I don't think we ever had lunch room brownies like this, but I do associate this retro recipe with the bake sale brownies I enjoyed all throughout the 80's and 90's. I found this recipe for lunch lady brownies in an old church cookbook.
