While the wide-bodied 1993-1994 RS 3.8 resembled its sibling 964 Turbo, it is readily identifiable by its larger fixed bi-plane fiberglass rear wing with the '3.8' logo embossed on its side plates.

While the RS of 1992 was relatively restrained in appearance, the 3.8-litre version featured the same wide-body look of the Type 964 Turbo, with the addition of a large rear wing, which was adjustable for different downforce levels.
