Probably natural - since neither Maki nor Peko seem to be the type to put in lenses with unnatural colours that would draw extra attention to themselves. I think anime rules apply here: all colours can exist naturally, whether it's hair, eyes, honestly even skin colour sometimes. I wouldn't seek another explanation tbh.

Taka has red eyes, but is overall wholesome. Peko had red eyes, and is a pretty good person. Gundham has red eyes, but is a pretty good person despite everything he says about himself. Izuru has red eyes, and is debatably more evil than Junko. Gonta has red eyes, and is considered one of the most wholesome characters in the franchise.
